Governor Ododo Commissions 42 Vehicles for Kogi Local Government Chairmen

Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, has distributed 2 vehicles each to the 21 Local Government Chairmen in the state. The ceremony took place at the Mohammed Buhari Civic Centre, Lokoja.

The Governor emphasized the importance of Local Governments being equipped to deliver on their mandates, saying, “It is essential to be duly equipped to deliver on the mandate given to you by the people.” He urged the chairmen to use the vehicles with accountability and integrity.

Governor Ododo expressed gratitude to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his support to the three tiers of Government, noting that it has made governance possible for them. He also thanked his predecessor, Alhaji Yahaya Adoza Bello, for laying a good foundation for the state.

The Governor called for unity among the people, stating, “Let’s work together as one United States.” He highlighted the importance of coalition and collaboration, saying, “What Mr. President is doing is a coalition of development, coalition of making Mineral Resources work in Nigeria.”

The Kogi State ALGON Chairman and the Executive Chairman of Yagba West Local Government Area, Hon. Tosin Olokun has said the sterling performances of Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo have put all Council Chairmen on their toes.

He thanked the Governor for his support and promised to be loyal to the government. He expressed appreciation for the peace, unity, and progress brought to the state under the Governor’s leadership.

The Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Hon. (Barr) Salami Ozigi Dediat , also spoke on behalf of the Local Government chairmen, thanking the Governor for his efforts in supporting Local Governments.

Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo’s leadership has garnered significant support from various stakeholders in Kogi State, making a strong case for his re-election bid come 2027.
