Nigeria, Côte d’Ivoire Reaffirm Defence Partnership as Minister Badaru Receives Ivorian Envoy in Abuja

Nigeria and Côte d’Ivoire have restated their commitment to strengthening bilateral and regional security collaboration as the Honourable Minister of Defence, H.E. Mohammed Badaru Abubakar, CON, mni, received the Ivorian Ambassador to Nigeria, H.E. Kalilou Traoré, at the Ministry of Defence headquarters in Abuja.
The high-level diplomatic engagement, held on Friday at the Ship House, underscored the enduring defence partnership between both nations, particularly in the context of ongoing efforts to enhance peace and stability in West Africa.
During the meeting, the two leaders reaffirmed their countries’ shared security goals and pledged to deepen cooperation both bilaterally and within the framework of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS).
In their discussions, H.E. Badaru and Ambassador Traoré reiterated the importance of collective regional strategies in addressing emerging security threats and strengthening mutual ties in military collaboration, intelligence sharing, and joint peacekeeping efforts.
The visit further cements the historic relationship between Nigeria and Côte d’Ivoire, with both nations positioned as key players in promoting sustainable peace and regional integration across West Africa.
