Governor Malam Dikko Umar Radda, PhD, CON, has continued to solidify his reputation as “The Bridge Builder” by uniting communities and delivering people-centered governance in Katsina State.

His administration’s wide-ranging reforms and initiatives are reshaping the state’s security, education, healthcare, agriculture, and social welfare sectors.

On security, Governor Radda established the Katsina Community Watch Corps, deploying over 1,400 trained operatives equipped with vehicles and motorcycles. This grassroots-driven approach has complemented federal security agencies, restoring peace and stability to many previously troubled communities.

In the education sector, the state government has built more than 75 new secondary schools, renovated thousands of existing ones, and recruited 7,000 teachers. Beyond infrastructure, the administration has paid examination fees for 54,000 students and empowered over 100,000 girls through conditional cash transfers under the Girl Education Development Initiative, signaling a strong commitment to human capital development.

Healthcare delivery has equally recorded significant milestones. The government has upgraded 158 primary healthcare centers, constructed a modern dialysis center, and secured over $10 million worth of medical equipment and supplies through strategic international partnerships.

Agriculture and youth empowerment remain top priorities. With the distribution of 400 tractors and the launch of KASEDA, a ₦5 billion revolving fund for entrepreneurship and skills training, the administration has expanded opportunities for farmers and young people across the state.

Complementing these reforms are infrastructure projects, rural access roads, digital governance innovations, and robust social welfare programs, creating a more inclusive and responsive government.

Governor Radda’s transformational strides have not gone unnoticed. He was named Leadership Newspaper’s Governor of the Year 2023 and also clinched the Best Performing Governor of 2025 Award.

Hon. Mannir Wurma, Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, described the Governor as a leader who remains unwavering in his mission to “build bridges between government and citizens for a safer, more prosperous Katsina State.”
