The Chairman of the Governing Council of Kwara State University (KWASU) and former Vice Chancellor of the University of Ilorin, Professor AbdulGaniyu Ambali, has praised Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq for his impactful governance, describing his administration as one that has ushered in unprecedented development, particularly in the education and health sectors.
Prof. Ambali made the commendation during a courtesy visit to the Kwara State University Teaching Hospital (KWASUTH) ahead of the final accreditation of the institution’s Medical School and the commencement of clinical training for medical students.
According to him, the present administration has embarked on projects with significant and direct benefits to the people of Kwara.
He particularly highlighted the transformation of the state’s General Hospital into a Teaching Hospital as a landmark initiative that supports the training of medical students and allied professionals while boosting access to quality healthcare services across the state and beyond.
“The present administration under the leadership of His Excellency, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, has embarked on various projects that have direct impact on the people, especially the transformation of the General Hospital into a Teaching Hospital, which will be of immense benefit in the provision of quality healthcare services to the people of Kwara and its environs,” Ambali said.

He, however, urged the management of the Teaching Hospital to ensure that all necessary arrangements are in place for the forthcoming accreditation exercise by the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria in September, to enable the smooth resumption of clinical training for students.
In his response, the Chief Medical Director of KWASUTH, Dr. Bola Ahmed, lauded Prof. Ambali and the Vice Chancellor of KWASU, Professor Sheikh Luqman Jimoh, for their consistent efforts in advancing the institution’s growth. He also commended the Kwara State Government for its continuous provision of critical medical equipment, which he said has significantly improved healthcare delivery and positioned Kwara as a model in the sector.
Dr. Ahmed reaffirmed the government’s commitment to strengthening the hospital’s capacity by providing the needed facilities, equipment, and manpower to train medical students and deliver quality healthcare to residents.
The meeting was attended by the Vice Chancellor of KWASU, Professor Jimoh, along with other top management staff of KWASUTH.
