Hon. Afolabi Abdullateef Momoh, fondly known as Mogaji, has begun his Senate campaign journey with a symbolic homecoming to Ẹkan in Ikare-Akoko, where his people showered him with prayers and blessings.
The event, which drew religious leaders from both Christian and Islamic communities, women groups, and residents, was a display of unity and faith as the community invoked divine favor for Mogaji’s ambition. Echoing the Yoruba adage “Ilé la ti n k’eso r’óde”—charity begins at home—clerics prayed for strength, wisdom, and victory for the Senate hopeful.
Women also lifted fervent prayers for the fulfillment of his aspirations, while supporters from neighboring towns pledged solidarity, insisting that when a leader is divinely chosen, development and peace follow.
Widely regarded as a humanitarian and advocate of community development, Mogaji’s reputation for integrity and generosity was underscored in tributes from residents and social media commentary describing him as “a distinguished son of Ikare-Akoko.”
Unveiling his Senate vision, Mogaji pledged a people-centered leadership anchored on inclusiveness, grassroots connection, and service. He promised that his bid would usher in a new era of progress and prosperity for Ondo North, drawing strength from his longstanding commitment to his people.
With the prayers and endorsements from Ẹkan setting the tone, Mogaji’s journey from his roots in Ikare-Akoko to Abuja has been cast by his supporters as more than a political ambition—it is a mandate grounded in faith, service, and shared community values.
