The Nigerian Union of Journalists (NUJ), Jigawa State Council, has continued to record remarkable progress under the purposeful leadership of its Chairman, Comrade Ismaila Ibrahim, and his executive members, with the support and mentorship of veteran journalists in the state.
Speaking on the recent transformation, Chairman of the Veteran Journalists Forum, NUJ Jigawa State, Mati Ali, expressed gratitude to Almighty Allah and commended the Council’s commitment, patriotism, and quality leadership.
Within a short period of less than three months, the once-dilapidated NUJ Secretariat has been given a facelift, now wearing a modern and befitting outlook. Attached still photographs showcasing the Secretariat’s transformation has since drawn wide commendations from members and stakeholders.
In addition to the infrastructural upgrade, the Union, last month, successfully organized a two-day seminar for Local Government Information Officers and New Media Aides to Council Chairmen, aimed at strengthening communication and governance at the grassroots. The Union also held its Mandatory Congress Meeting, strictly in line with the NUJ Constitution.
Mati Ali reassured journalists in the state of the Veterans’ continued support and mentorship, stressing that more positive developments are underway.
We remain committed to the greater wellbeing of working journalists in Jigawa State. Let us continue to wait in prayers, as more good news is on the way,” he said.
