In a solemn gesture of solidarity and compassion, the Progressive Next Generation Initiative (PNGI) visited the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Prof. Nentawe Goshwe Yilwatda, to offer condolences following the passing of his beloved mother, Mama Maria Yilwatda.
The visit, led by PNGI’s Acting Chairman, Hon. Faisal Lawal, was marked by deep reflection and reverence for a woman described as having lived a fulfilled life, rich in values, discipline, and service to humanity.
Hon. Faisal, speaking on behalf of the Initiative, conveyed heartfelt sympathies to the APC Chairman and his family, acknowledging the profound loss while celebrating Mama Maria’s legacy.
“The transition of Mama Maria Yilwatda is indeed an irreparable loss, but we are comforted by the exemplary life she lived—a life devoted to service, moral values, and the nurturing of children who have continued to make meaningful contributions to society,” he said. He offered prayers for divine strength and fortitude for the bereaved family, and for Mama Maria’s soul to find eternal rest.
In response, the APC National Chairman expressed sincere gratitude to PNGI for their thoughtful visit and emotional support during this period of mourning.
He commended the Initiative’s unwavering solidarity and reaffirmed his commitment to continued collaboration, describing PNGI as a dynamic grassroots support group and a vital contributor to the party’s progressive mission through data analytics and civic engagement.
The visit, attended by principal officers of PNGI, underscored the Initiative’s ethos of standing with leaders and communities in times of both celebration and sorrow. A formal letter of condolence was presented to the APC Chairman, further cementing PNGI’s role as a compassionate and forward-looking force within the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) and Nigeria’s political landscape.
