The Commissioner for Local Government and Rural Development in Nasarawa State, Hon. Aminu Mu’azu Maifata, has extended warm felicitations to Muslims across the state on the occasion of Eid Maulid, calling on the faithful to uphold the Prophet’s teachings of compassion, kindness, and service to humanity.
“As we celebrate the birth of Prophet Muhammad (SAW), I extend warm felicitations to our Muslim brothers and sisters across the state,” Maifata said. “This joyous occasion is a reminder of the Prophet’s teachings, which emphasize compassion, kindness, and service to humanity.”
The Commissioner also used the opportunity to express his appreciation to Governor Abdullahi A. Sule for what he described as exceptional leadership and an unwavering commitment to the welfare of citizens.
“I would like to express my profound gratitude to Governor A.A. Sule for his exceptional leadership. His vision for Nasarawa State has been inspiring, and his commitment to the welfare of our citizens is truly commendable,” he said. “As Commissioner, I am privileged to work under his guidance, promoting local government development and rural empowerment.”
Reflecting on his background as a former National President of the Association of Local Governments of Nigeria (ALGON), Maifata noted that his appointment by Governor Sule as Commissioner for Local Government, Community Development, and Chieftaincy Affairs was a vote of confidence in his capacity to deliver grassroots development.
“In Nasarawa State, we’re working tirelessly to ensure that our local governments are effective in delivering services to the people,” he explained. “We prioritize initiatives that promote education, healthcare, infrastructure development, and job creation, aligning our goal with the policy direction of His Excellency to improve the living standards of our citizens and foster a sense of belonging and unity.”
On the spiritual significance of Eid Maulid, the Commissioner prayed for continued peace and harmony in the state.
“As we celebrate Eid Maulid, I pray for Allah’s blessings upon our Muslim faithful, particularly those in rural communities across Nasarawa State’s 13 Local Government Areas. May we remain peaceful and law-abiding, promoting a sense of responsibility and civic duty,” he prayed.
Maifata concluded by once again appreciating Governor Sule, stating: “Thank you, Governor A.A. Sule, for your leadership and support. Your dedication to the development of Nasarawa State is truly appreciated.”
