Ambassador Jolly Nnenna Abani, Chief Executive Officer of Mother of Models International and creator of the 40andFabulousNaija reality TV show, has called for increased support from partners, sponsors, and broadcasters as preparations heighten for the third season of the programme.

Addressing a press conference in Abuja, Abani stressed that the show is far beyond entertainment, describing it as a platform created to educate, heal, and reposition women aged 40 and above in society. “40andFabulousNaija is not just a show, it is a movement. It is therapy, empowerment, and a second chance for women who need healing to become whole again,” she explained.

The show, which also doubles as a non-governmental organization, provides training, empowerment, and opportunities for women, children, and older people across communities. According to Abani, the project was conceived to challenge stereotypes that often marginalize women over 40, including single mothers, divorcees, widows, and survivors of abuse.

She lamented the hurdles faced in securing airtime on major platforms despite the considerable investment that went into its first two seasons. “We are not asking for free airtime. What we are asking for is a fair commercial arrangement, a purchase of airtime so our content can reach the audience it deserves,” she stated.

For Season 3, the format has been expanded to feature both women and men. Women will live in the house while men join on weekends to network, party, and showcase their businesses. Auditions are already underway, with interested participants instructed to text 40 to 205 for more details.

Abani also encouraged Nigerians to subscribe to the show’s YouTube channel, @40andFabulousNaija, where exclusive content will be made available and viewers can vote for their favorite housemates.

Underscoring the broader mission of the project, she questioned why family-oriented programmes that promote positive values are often overlooked while “destructive” content dominates the airwaves. “Strong women build strong nations. When you look at the kind of content being pushed into our society today, you will see how damaging some of it is. But we bring something different — content that can heal families and make society better,” she emphasized.

Expressing confidence in what lies ahead, Abani assured that Season 3 would mark a significant turning point for the initiative. “Anticipate a season filled with hope, progress, and greatness,” she told journalists.
