The Association of Local Governments of Nigeria (ALGON), Imo State Chapter, has extended a warm reception to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu as he embarks on a state visit to commission landmark projects in Imo State.

In a statement signed by Hon. Engr. Ikenna Adikibe, Chairman of ALGON Imo, the association expressed delight at the President’s visit, highlighting the commissioning of major infrastructure, including the Owerri-Mbaise-Umuahia Road and the Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu International Conference Centre.

Hon. Adikibe praised President Tinubu’s commitment to infrastructure development and economic growth, describing it as a visible demonstration of federal presence in Imo State. He also commended Governor Hope Uzodinma for his “tireless efforts in driving development and progress,” noting that the governor’s leadership has brought remarkable transformation across key sectors of the state.

“Under his leadership, the state has witnessed significant strides in ease of doing business, industrial clusters, ICT hubs, job creation, education, healthcare delivery, and more,” Adikibe stated.

Reaffirming ALGON’s partnership with both the federal and state governments, the Imo ALGON Chairman pledged that local government chairmen will continue to work collaboratively to ensure prudent management of resources and fiscal responsibility.

“We will always leverage on the enabling environment created by the Governor to build a resilient Imo,” he added.

Addressing the people of Imo State, Adikibe expressed gratitude for their trust in leadership, assuring them that “the worst days are indeed behind us” and calling for unity among stakeholders to build a prosperous state.

“We call on all stakeholders to join hands with us in building a prosperous Imo, harnessing the opportunities that abound in our state. Together, we can achieve greatness and make Imo a model for other states to follow,” he declared.

He concluded with appreciation to President Tinubu, Governor Uzodinma, and the people of Imo State for their unwavering support and trust.
