The Project Victory Call Initiative (PVC-Naija), a non-governmental, political advocacy and education platform committed to interfacing with electorates across Nigeria, is set to conduct a historic assessment and measurement of governance impact under the present political leadership in the country.
In a statement issued by the President of the Organisation, Mrs. Paula Bellgam, she disclosed that the initiative is guided by the collective resolve to rethink Nigeria, reinvent politics, remodel leadership, and redefine governance. According to her, the organisation’s goal is to erase dividing lines, forge unity, and empower citizens toward nation-building. She emphasized that the vision of PVC-Naija is to create a new Nigeria of credible, responsible, and responsive leadership and citizenry, while its mission is to enlighten and sensitize Nigerians on their political responsibilities to ensure the emergence of credible leaders for accountable governance.
Mrs. Bellgam further explained that among the organisation’s key objectives are to establish direct engagement with electorates seeking positive change, position citizens as decisive stakeholders in Nigeria’s power equation, and drive electoral victories that secure the ideology of a government of the people, by the people, and for the people. She maintained that PVC-Naija stands at the forefront of a new political era driven by engagement, recognition, and awards.
The President also announced that the initiative’s flagship event, A Night 4 Naija, is a national recognition and award ceremony designed to honor leaders, advocates, and change agents who have contributed to Nigeria’s growth and democratic development. She described it as more than an award event, but a celebration of excellence, leadership, and citizen engagement.
Explaining the nomination process, Mrs. Bellgam disclosed that there are fifteen award categories in total, with nominations reflecting Nigeria’s geo-political balance across the South East, South South, South West, North West, North East, and North Central, ensuring that no zone is left out. The only exception, she noted, is the Best FCT Minister category, as the South East has never produced an FCT Minister. The Nomination Committee for A Night 4 Naija 2025 was chaired by Simon Imobo-Tswam, a respected public intellectual and accomplished media professional, with Ifeoma Nkem, another distinguished journalist, serving as Secretary.
The committee, guided by media recommendations and Independent Media Governance Assessment Reports covering May 2024 to May 2025, received submissions between June and July 2025, while screening was completed between August and September. The list of media nominees was released on the 1st of October 2025, and public voting will begin on the 15th of October and run until the 30th of November 2025.
Speaking on the voting guidelines, Mrs. Bellgam explained that public voting would be open from October 1 to November 30, 2025, with each vote costing ₦100, a measure aimed at ensuring accessibility and citizen-driven participation. She assured Nigerians that winners would be chosen by Nigerians, for Nigerians, and that the official voting link would be announced shortly on the organisation’s website, pvc-naija.com.ng.
She also outlined that the 2025 edition will feature prestigious categories such as the Political Icon of the Year, Political Iconic Voice of the People Award, Development or Change Agent of the Year, Governor of the Year based on performance in Security, Education, and Agriculture, Senator of the Year, House of Representatives Member of the Year, State Legislator of the Year, Local Government Chairman of the Year (restricted to elected Chairmen), Speaker of the Year for State Houses of Assembly, Iconic Voice of the Decade (2015–2025), and National Political Icon of the Decade (2015–2025), whose manifestos will be compiled into the Jubilee Vision 2025–2075. Others include Best FCT Minister from inception till date, Minister and Ministry of the Year, Head of Paramilitary Agency and Agency of the Year, and the Chief Steward of the Nation Award 2025, described as the prime award of the night.
According to her, the selection process will be guided by measurable criteria such as stewardship and leadership attitude, courteous and edifying communication, accessibility to citizens, influence-driven leadership, and respect for the rule of law and democratic values.
Speaking on the broader significance of the event, Mrs. Bellgam stressed that A Night 4 Naija matters because it restores credibility in an era of commercialized awards, promotes accountability by recognizing leaders who prioritize citizens’ needs, unites Nigerians through equal representation across all regions, and drives citizen engagement by empowering the electorate to choose and celebrate their icons. She revealed that the delivery of the event proper is under the oversight of the Event Committee for A Night 4 Naija 2025, chaired by Mr. Demola Adunola, an accomplished hotelier, with Leo Omoseebi, a leading art director in the Nollywood industry, serving as Secretary. Consultancy for the project is provided by Jubal Production.
The President of PVC-Naija also paid tribute to the organisation’s founding President, Dr. Bolaji Oluwayanmife Akinyemi, who now serves as the Chairman of the Board of Trustees. She described A Night 4 Naija as a movement birthed by the philosophy of Dr. Akinyemi, whose vision and inspiration continue to guide the organisation. She explained that the event represents a call to Nigerians everywhere to recognize and reward leadership, advocacy, and service that inspire a new Nigeria.
A Night 4 Naija, powered by PVC-Naija, is scheduled to hold on Sunday, 14th December 2025, with the green carpet opening at 5:00 PM in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja. The event carries the theme Engagement. Recognition. Awards., reflecting its essence as a civic movement rather than a mere ceremony.
Mrs. Bellgam concluded by calling on citizens, organisations, and the media to join hands in celebrating credible governance and in shaping a future anchored on integrity, unity, and citizen participation. She said, “It’s a new political era. Be part of the celebration. Be part of nation-building. For corporate sponsorship and partnership, please call 08033482715. Let’s do this together.”
