Meeting Focuses on Digital Registration, Microcredit Access, and Joint Outreach to Boost Youth and Women’s Inclusion

The National Social Investment Programme Agency (NSIPA) has opened a new chapter of collaboration with political youth and women leaders of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) to expand the reach and impact of the Government Enterprise and Empowerment Programme (GEEP) nationwide.

During a strategic meeting held at the NSIPA headquarters in Abuja on Tuesday, October 7, 2025, the National Programme Manager of GEEP, Mr. Hamza Baba, received the APC National Youth Leader, Dr. Dayo Israel, and the Deputy National Women Leader, Hajiya Zainab Ibrahim, in an engagement aimed at strengthening youth and women economic empowerment across the grassroots.

According to a statement signed by Attari M. Hope, ANIPR, Head of Information and Public Relations at NSIPA, the meeting formed part of ongoing consultations between the Federal Government’s social investment implementing agencies and political structures of youth and women leaders to promote inclusive access to empowerment opportunities.

The discussions centered on digital beneficiary registration, expanded access to microcredit, grassroots sensitisation, and preparations for the rollout of GEEP 3.0 — the next phase of the Federal Government’s flagship microenterprise support initiative.

Mr. Baba used the opportunity to brief the APC leaders on GEEP’s structure, objectives, and achievements in 2025, while outlining the agency’s strategic priorities for the coming year. He reaffirmed NSIPA’s commitment to building sustainable partnerships with credible youth and women organisations to enhance the reach and transparency of government empowerment schemes.

“We are open to stronger collaboration with youth and women networks to ensure that every genuine entrepreneur and trader across Nigeria can access microcredit and build a viable business,” Hamza said.
“GEEP’s focus for 2025 is on digital registration, improved financial inclusion, and enterprise capacity-building, particularly for small-scale traders.”

In response, Dr. Dayo Israel and Hajiya Zainab Ibrahim commended NSIPA’s efforts under the leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration to empower ordinary Nigerians through structured social investment programmes. They expressed readiness to mobilise APC youth and women structures across all states for joint sensitisation and awareness campaigns.

The meeting concluded with an agreement to convene a follow-up technical session to develop a joint action framework for collaboration between NSIPA and APC youth and women organs. The framework will guide coordinated sensitisation and outreach campaigns in preparation for the next phase of GEEP 3.0 implementation, focusing on community-level mobilisation and enterprise support.

Both parties also agreed to develop a joint grassroots mobilisation plan to expedite awareness and uptake of GEEP loans among young people and women nationwide.

The renewed collaboration, NSIPA stated, reflects a shared commitment to promoting entrepreneurship, improving access to finance, and driving community-based economic development — key pillars of the government’s ongoing efforts to reduce poverty and empower citizens through inclusive social investment.
