PETER OBI, PARABLE OF THE TALENTS & 2027: An Open Note To H.E. Peter Obi
By Prince Tony Akeni, Outgoing Interim Labour Party National Publicity Secretary, October 31, 2025
KEYSTONE
Your Excellency Peter Obi,
“This is how it will play from this hour:
If you make the right moves, I will lead the choir.
If you make the wrong moves I will lead the fire.”
“Do me a favour; hate me because I tell you the truth.” Galatians 4:16.
1. At the time of writing this on Friday October 31, 2025, Countrymeter, the world population clock monitoring group, posted that Nigeria’s population stands at 238million citizens.
2. In the following 24hours after that, which is today November 1st, 21,351 new Nigerians will be born. That is Nigeria’s daily average population growth. Within the same 24hours, about 7,355 Nigerians will die, 54 of them murdered in violent deaths everyday. This is according to Mediazona, US Library of Congress and Book of Memory deathometer research groups. That is the lot of Nigerians under the ruling APC’s security calamity since it came to power in 2015.
3. It is projected that by the year 2035, just ten years from today, Nigeria’s population will be 288million, and 401million citizens by the year 2050; nearly twice our present population.
4. The leaders we chose yesterday and will choose in 2027, their good or bad decisions, including the unstoppable skyscraping lunatic debts Tinubu’s administration is piling up on the heads of Nigeria’s citizens of today and over 400million citizens of tomorrow, will affect everyone in both the short and long term. The Senate of Godswill Akpabio has just approved again, only two days ago on Wednesday October 29, another foreign loan of $2.3billion and #500million for President Tinubu.
5. How does the above information relate to Your Excellency Peter Obi? you may ask. First, if you make the wrong decisions about 2027, Nigerians of today and years to come will hold you partly responsible for the catastrophic misrule of Tinubu even when you are not the one running the country. This is because they still silently seethe, holding angry record against you that they gave you their mandate in 2023 and you threw it away into Tinubu’s hands by not taking the right decisions when they were ready to lay down their lives for you to be their President and to rid Nigeria of the empire of vampires. Thus, the year 2027 shall either be the year of your coronation or unforgiving political de-robing. Whichever will manifest shall depend on the decisions you make today. This is at the heart of my vicarious concerns for you.
6. Talking about decisions, everyone is at it so far. Except the authentic workers founded Labour Party.
Be rest assured, however, that we shall take ours at the appropriate time. Follow the roll-call.
7. On Monday July 21, 2025, in the name of peace and reconciliation, Sen. Yusuf Datti, our opposition stalwart of incomparable courage before now, chose to pay homage to the rag-tag rebels of Abure’s cash-and-carry camp where, in spite of outstanding court judgments to the contrary, Datti addressed Abure as “National Chairman of the Labour Party,” to the chagrin of the legitimate Labour Party headed by Sen. Nenadi Usman. How the devil’s celebrated! This was shortly after Abure himself returned from paying homage, with photo-opps, to the No. 10 Shirt of Tinubu’s APC, the garrulous, delirious, power inebriated Minister of FCT, Mr. Nyesom Wike. Till date Yusuf Datti has not, in his reconciliation mission, visited the legitimate Labour Party “owned and promoted by the NLC,” according to Justice Gabriel Kolawale’s consent judgment of March 20, 2018.
8. Abure and his camp have also taken their decision, which is to re-kit and redeploy themselves for profit as “APC Labour Party wing (APCLP)” by working for Tinubu in 2027 through Nyesom Wike.
9. Since the above decision, Julius Abure has continued to use his two ghost “publicity secretaries” of their group outlawed by the Supreme Court judgment of April 4, Obi’s fellow Igbo kinsman, Mr. Obiora Ifoh, and Abayomi Arabambi, to level extremely severe coup, treason allegations and gun-running petitions against Peter Obi all year round. Yet the only hand Peter Obi and Governor Alex Otti have dealt the authentic workers founded Labour Party of Nigeria is cold contempt, indifference and ignominy, even after they, on September 4 2024 at Umuahia singlehandedly installed, unopposed, the Sen. Nenadi Usman-Darlington Nwaokocha NWC on the Labour Party and swept aside the goal-getting, result-oriented Comrade Omar Abdulwahed led NTC council.
9. On your part, Your Excellency Peter Obi, it has been widely published that you will decide your position on the ADC coalition after the November 8 governorship election of Anambra, your home state. The common interpretation of this is that you shall either remain in the Labour Party or dump the party and decamp fully to the ADC where Atiku is lord of the manor and indefatigable dollar priest, crutching in wait to soar supreme in the ADC’s presidential primary for 2027.
10. Dear PO, why wait for Anambra governorship election before you decide? Why is the Anambra guber your decision benchmark? Which political infant in Anambra or entire Nigeria doesn’t know that the election has already been lost and won more than a century ago, and that Soludo is back to the seat for a second term? A deal cemented by Tinubu during Tinubu’s state visit to Anambra on May 8, 2025? Please, leave the ceremony and take your decision now.
11. It is by similar combination of indecision and indifference to the struggles of the authentic NLC founded Labour Party that you and Governor Alex Otti gave INEC all the guts they needed to delist LP from fielding candidates in local government elections throughout Nigeria in 2025 and 2026. As a direct consequence, Wike and Abure have successfully run rings round you as they move to snatch all Abuja FCT council elections and deliver them in a tidy bundle as a gift to Tinubu for APC’s 2027 presidential victory against you; the same Federal Capital Territory you won with historic landslide in 2023. So, _who you do,_ as our street parlance says? The Labour Party or yourself?
12. As Neil Peart of Rush band wrote in the song “Freewill” in 1980, if you choose not to decide, you still have made a choice.” There are consequences in indecisions. For example, do you know how many former staunch Obidient members and supporters have defected to Tinubu since you made that singular statement of waiting for Anambra governorship election to take a decision on the ADC coalition? Some have formed a huge APC platform which is called “Tinubu Support Movement (TSM).” Their growing numbers are enough to win the presidential election in several states of Nigeria. That is what happens when a man on a leadership pedestal stands in one spot for too long and let the grass grow under his feet. But we can reverse this catastrophic trend and win 2027 again if you listen to the right advice, make the right decisions at the right time, get off your Twitter sofa and stand up to act like a he-man. A true presidential material; not one waiting to be spoon-fed with electorate luck.
13. In all of the above, only the authentic Labour Party has not taken a decision. Shall we not also take one? Make no mistake, we shall.
14. I will disclose here a fraction of that decision to give you a headstart, and what you do with it is totally your choice. As the root head and ideological source of Labour Party, we are conscience guided, committed to principle and the wishes of Nigeria’s suffering workers and masses. Therefore, even though you and Governor Alex Otti have not reciprocated our commitment to your cause, we shall support you and may not field a presidential candidate against your ticket in 2027, if by some extraordinary miracle you emerge as ADC’s 2027 coalition presidential candidate. We may only rethink this if you accept a self-demoting Vice Presidential ticket, as some unconfirmed intelligence report has availed. We also shall not field a candidate against our party’s performing governor of Abia state. This is because what we care about is good governance, and Otti is doing a great job for our good people of Abia.
15. In 2023, providence, the Obidient Movement and unprecedented history came together and fashioned you into the small axe that cuts down the big tree; the little matchstick that burns down a mighty forest. But in less than 24 months you threw away that battle axe, opted for a toothpick and moved from the battle ring where a crown awaited you to the lame spectator stand of a wimp where the garment of ridicule is the only prize to be won.
16. In October of 1986, Dele Giwa wrote in his _Parallex Snap_ column of the defunct Concord newspaper in his congratulatory message to Wole Soyinka: “A man who cannot get angry cannot change things.” This was shortly after Soyinka won the Nobel Prize for Literature on October 16 of that year and became the first Sub-Saharan African to do so. From the false presidential votes announcement to post-election tribunal days to this hour, rage and courage failed you to deal decisively and timely with the evils of the anti-masses crimedom of the Nigeria establishment and the Abure sludge in its midst. In doing so, you fell short of the scripture which warns that “no weak heart shalt prosper” as Bob Marley, in his iconic song “Small Axe,” perfectly rephrased Moses’ instruction to Joshua. “Be of good courage,” Moses instructed Joshua as he sent him forth on the Promise Land political project after the crossing of the Red Sea (Deut 31:7).
17. Dear Excellency Peter Obi, note that I shall not be in your band of praise singers in the journey to 2027, just to have a front seat and photo-ups in the battles of that journey. Like I posted recently on October 29, if telling you the truth makes you to hate me, do me a favour; hate me. The Lord, not man, is my defence and rewarder for telling you the truth I trust would ultimately lead to your triumph and the liberation of Nigeria. Galatians 4:16 is my witness.
18. In Nigeria it is not wrong for leaders to do wrong. What is wrong is for anyone to dare point out their wrong. Political, traditional, Christian, Muslim leaders and sundry, they are the same spoilt gods and privileged infallibles. But I will not be found in their choirs when they go wrong, so be foretold and forewarned.
19. God and the good people of Nigeria gave you outstanding talents of electoral victory in 2023. Instead of investing on that victory and expanding it as we head towards 2027, you buried it by your leadership style of detachment and near zero rear-view for the wellbeing of your trench soldiers untill the gains evaporated, and many rethought and reversed their loyalty. Elected officials of Labour Party drifted away under your nose and moved on to pitch camp with other camps. If Christ, the author of the Parable of the Talents (Matthew 25:14-30) were to mark your script with His parable as context, what do you think Heavens would score you?
20. So, this is how it will play from this hour. If you make the right moves, I will lead the choir. If you make the wrong moves I will lead the fire. This and other stands ought not to be surprises. Who God loves He chastises. To be His true Children this need arises. (Heb 12:6, Rev 3:19). From here forward, if you unreasonably bungle up at any juncture in the forthcoming struggles, I shall imitate God in chastising you. Expect me to do a good job of that in the journey through the jungles ahead.
“Project Suddenly:” Salute to Elected Labour Party Members
21. The Labour Party of Nigeria salutes our brave elected officials in the National Assembly and various State Houses of Assembly still standing. We know you stand in lonely places. But you are not alone. We are with you and salute you for your faith and strength.
22. Remain steadfast. Help is coming. Redeeming work, recovery strategies and a grand master plan for overtaking victory are ongoing in the Labour Party’s command “base” 24/7 beneath eye level. Our intense focus is to see to your return victory and the rescue of our country in general. If there is one word suitable for what is coming to dismantle and rout the APC’s daydream of conquering our country into a one-party empire which they are orchestrating for Nigeria, it is called “Suddenly.” You will understand this in due cause.
23. Watch and see? The Labour Party will not tell you that. Power is not attained by watch-and-see attitude. It is taken through special actions in special circumstances. What we will therefore tell you is to stand up like men and lend your hands to the grand solution as avatars of “Project Suddenly”, which we are designing for reversal of our party’s mismanaged fortunes and the actions underway towards achieving that.
Conclusion
To His Excellency Peter Obi and all officials elected on the platform of the Labour Party nationwide, the best words of men, however well-fashioned, are imperfect. But not the least word of God’s scripture. Let me therefore conclude with these quotes from Holy Writ.
“The undecided are like the wave of the sea tossed by the wind, and should not expect to receive anything from God, because they are double-minded and unstable.” – James 1:6-8.
The Holy Qur’an’s nearest equivalent of that can be found at Qur’an 3:159.
Therefore, be decisive. Be proactive. Be firm, prompt and bonded with the Labour Party’s ground zero fortress of the NLC Political Commission. Our blueprint on the road to 2027 is strong. Victory is sure and our party shall rise again.
Aluta Continua, Vitória É Certa!
