The Progressive Next Generation Initiative (PNGI) has dissolved its interim executive committee led by Hon. Faisal Lawal, three months after its inauguration, as part of an ongoing structural overhaul aimed at strengthening the organisation’s internal alignment and broadening its impact in political and civic engagement.
In a statement issued on Saturday, the Convener of PNGI, Hon. Jeffery Omoh Ozemegwa, announced that the dissolution followed a deliberate and comprehensive review of the organisation’s operational framework.
He said the decision was necessary to enhance cohesion within the group and to reposition PNGI for more effective, data-driven political engagement and grassroots mobilisation, beginning with the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
Ozemegwa commended Lawal and members of the dissolved interim executive for what he described as their “notable contributions, sacrifices and stabilising support” throughout the organisation’s formative phase. According to him, the interim leadership played a crucial role in consolidating PNGI’s outreach structures and deepening its internal processes.
As consultations continue toward unveiling a substantive executive committee, Ozemegwa announced that he will directly supervise all organisational activities.
He emphasised that PNGI’s strength is rooted in its collective identity, noting that every member remains an equal stakeholder vested with the responsibility of contributing to the group’s growth, policy engagements and strategic political analysis.
Reaffirming the organisation’s vision, Ozemegwa stated that PNGI remains committed to fostering inclusion, innovation and civic-driven participation as it expands its grassroots networks. He added that the group is refining its frameworks for political communication, electoral education and community engagement to ensure more meaningful impact across communities.
The Convener also disclosed that PNGI is set to host the Chairman of Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC) on December 2, 2025, in a strategic engagement expected to strengthen collaboration with key stakeholders within the FCT governance ecosystem.
