AASU Celebrates Morocco’s Independence Day, Hails King Mohamed VI and Strengthening Africa–Morocco Relations

The All-Africa Students Union (AASU) has extended its warmest felicitations to His Majesty King Mohamed VI and the entire Kingdom of Morocco on the celebration of the nation’s Independence Day. In a statement issued on Tuesday, November 18, 2023, the continental student body, led by its President, HE Osisiogu Osikenyi E., described the occasion as a moment of great pride for Morocco and a reminder of the nation’s enduring resilience, heritage and historic struggle for self-determination.
AASU emphasized that Morocco’s Independence Day, marked annually on November 18, represents a pivotal chapter in the country’s history and a continued symbol of the determination of its people.
The union noted that the North African nation has made remarkable progress across multiple sectors, contributing significantly to the overall advancement of the African continent.
In the statement, AASU lauded the flourishing diplomatic relations between Morocco and the rest of Africa, with special acknowledgment of the strong bilateral ties with Nigeria.
The union commended the tireless efforts of HE Ambassador Moha Ouali Tagma, Morocco’s Ambassador to Nigeria, and the entire Moroccan diplomatic mission in strengthening cooperation and fostering mutual understanding among African nations. It emphasized appreciation for Morocco’s sustained commitment to building bridges and enhancing continental unity.
Reaffirming its own dedication to the ideals of African unity, solidarity and collective progress, AASU assured King Mohamed VI of its readiness to continue promoting pan-African cooperation and supporting Morocco’s role in the continent’s shared aspirations. The statement celebrated Morocco’s unwavering contributions to pan-Africanism and its consistent engagement toward a prosperous, interconnected Africa.
AASU concluded the message with heartfelt wishes for continued peace, joy and prosperity for the Kingdom of Morocco and its people on this year’s Independence Day celebration.
