Elder statesman and prominent political figure, Engr. Buba Galadima, has been selected as a recipient of The Sun Lifetime Achievement Award, following a rigorous editorial vetting process by The Sun Board of Editors.

A high-powered delegation from The Sun Publishing Limited, led by the Managing Director of The Sun Group, Mr. Onuoha Ukeh, visited Galadima in Abuja on Tuesday, November 18, 2025, to formally present him with the notification of the honour.

Members of the delegation included Ihenacho Nwosu, Editor of Daily Sun; Adetutu Folashade, Editor, Nation’s Capital; Paulinus, Deputy Foreign Editor; Romanus Ugwu, Deputy Political Editor; and Mudashiru Atanda, Photo Editor.

Speaking during the visit, Mr. Ukeh explained that Galadima’s selection emerged from “a rigorous process involving several weeks of debate and scrutiny.” He emphasised that the recognition was strictly on merit, noting that the renowned statesman has remained “consistent in his fearless interventions on issues of national importance.”

The formal awards ceremony is scheduled to hold on Saturday, January 31, 2026, in Lagos.
