Hon. Hamisu Anani, National Publicity Secretary of the Association of Local Governments of Nigeria (ALGON) and Executive Chairman of Wase Local Government Area in Plateau State, has been awarded a certificate after successfully completing a high-level training programme organised by the Commonwealth Local Government Forum (CLGF) in Accra, Ghana.
Hon. Anani lauded the organisers for the initiative, describing the programme as a crucial step toward deepening democratic governance at the sub-national level across Commonwealth nations.
He reaffirmed his commitment to putting the newly acquired knowledge into action to strengthen local government administration and advance people-centred development in Nigeria.
The capacity-building programme exposed participants to innovative models for enhanced service delivery, effective decentralisation, and improved citizen engagement.
Hon. Anani’s participation, according to observers, positions Wase Local Government—and by extension, local government practice in Nigeria—to benefit from cutting-edge governance strategies aimed at accelerating development and improving public service outcomes.
