The Delta State Commissioner for Works (Highways and Urban Roads), Comrade Reuben Izeze, has commended the Army Day Secondary School Effurun Old Students Association (ADSSEOSA) for its sustained development strides, describing the body as a model of alumni-driven progress.

Speaking on Saturday at the association’s 2nd General Reunion Gathering (GRG) in Effurun, the Commissioner represented by his Special Assistant (Technical), Engr. Ejovi Adasen, praised the immediate past executive led by Engr. Kingsley Aghomishe for what he described as “notable achievements” over the last five years.

He urged the newly inaugurated leadership of the association to build upon the legacies of their predecessors, noting that continuity and commitment remain central to institutional growth.

Engr. Adasen also highlighted the broader developmental momentum in Delta State, attributing it to the visionary leadership of Governor Sheriff Francis Oborevwori. According to him, the state is witnessing “a wave of exponential growth across all sectors” owing to the governor’s ability to consolidate the gains of the previous administration while executing people-oriented projects. He pointed to the ongoing construction of six flyovers across the three senatorial districts as a clear demonstration of the administration’s resolve to deliver infrastructure that guarantees long-term value for Deltans.

“These projects, supervised by the proactive Commissioner, Comrade Reuben Izeze, will be delivered on schedule and to the highest quality standards as specified in the contract,” he assured.

A key highlight of the event was the presentation of an award to the member representing Uvwie Local Government Area in the Delta State House of Assembly, Hon. Edafe Emakpor, in recognition of his contribution to human capital development.

He was honoured for sponsoring two members of the association to China for Artificial Intelligence training, an initiative applauded by attendees as a forward-looking investment in youth empowerment.

The event drew dignitaries, alumni members, and stakeholders who commended ADSSEOSA’s growing role in community development and its commitment to strengthening the education sector.
