The Chairman of Mani Local Government Area, Dr. Yunusa Muhd Sani Bagiwa, has reiterated his administration’s commitment to grassroots development across the council.

Dr. Bagiwa disclosed that over 1,500 small-scale traders across Mani Local Government have benefited from financial support aimed at boosting their businesses. The beneficiaries, mostly women and youths engaged in petty trading such as food vending, received grants ranging from ₦25,000 to ₦50,000, depending on the nature of their businesses.

In a move to ease transportation challenges, the council has acquired a commercial bus to operate on the Katsina–Mani route at a subsidised fare of ₦600, reduced from the ₦1,000 previously charged by private commercial vehicles. The initiative is intended to reduce transportation costs and improve mobility for residents.

The chairman also announced financial support for 361 indigenes studying in various tertiary institutions, including Umaru Musa Yar’adua University, Federal College of Education, Dutsin Ma, Katsina Polytechnic, Federal University, Daura, among others. Students studying Medicine and Law received ₦50,000 each, while those in other disciplines were supported with ₦20,000 each.

On healthcare delivery, Dr. Bagiwa said renovation works have been completed at two primary healthcare centres located in Jani (Ainawa) and Magami (Kuru Kus). He added that monitoring committees have already inspected the facilities to ensure quality service delivery.

In the education sector, the chairman revealed that renovation has commenced in four primary schools across the local government as part of efforts to improve learning infrastructure. This initiative aligns with the Katsina State Government’s education development agenda under the leadership of Dikko Umar Radda.

Dr. Bagiwa assured residents of Mani Local Government Area of sustained investments aimed at improving livelihoods, education, healthcare services, and transportation.
