Excitement filled the festive air as the Executive Chairman of Oru West Local Government Area of Imo State and Deputy National President of the Association of Local Governments of Nigeria (ALGON), Hon. (Engr.) Ikenna Adikibe, presented his goodwill message to the people of Imo State at the Christmas season, extending warm wishes and reflections on leadership, unity, and hope for the New Year.
In a message released by his office, Adikibe spoke “in a familiar tone that echoed love and happiness,” as he conveyed “his blessings of goodwill at Christmas and his hope for a fantastic New Year to all Imolite brothers and sisters.”
He began by expressing profound gratitude to the Governor of Imo State, His Excellency, Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodimma, commending what he described as “his visionary leadership and inclusive governance that have made Imo State a beacon of hospitality for every citizen.”
According to the ALGON Deputy National President, the impact of the Governor’s policies is evident across the state.
He noted that “the Governor’s service-delivery strategy has transformed the state into a reference point in the South-East, showcasing true inclusion from the family level to the ward and local-government arenas.”
He emphasized that this approach has strengthened grassroots governance and reinforced the sense of belonging among the people.
Reflecting on recent challenges, Adikibe recalled the resilience of Imo people in the face of adversity. Speaking “with the cadence of a seasoned community leader,” he observed how Imolites “have weathered challenges posed by non-state actors, yet continue to place their trust in His Excellency’s managerial experience—a trust that is now yielding smiles across the Imo population during this festive season.”
Drawing inspiration from scripture, he invoked the biblical assurance that “the light shines in the darkness,” urging citizens to allow that light to guide them into the New Year as “the nation looks toward 2026 with hopeful eyes.”
Looking ahead, the Deputy National President painted “a picture of a brighter tomorrow,” expressing confidence that “the combined prayers of the faithful and the diligent work of Governor Uzodimma’s administration will usher in greater peace, progress, security, and abundant opportunities for all.”
On behalf of “27 LGA that makes ALGON Imo State,” he extended heartfelt appreciation to the Governor, the State Executive Council, traditional rulers, and all citizens who have supported the administration. “We are grateful for your support, and we pledge to continue partnering with you for the betterment of our people,” Adikibe affirmed.
He further stressed that the joy of the season must translate into action, adding that it should inspire “a renewed commitment to service delivery, infrastructure, and the welfare of every Imolite household.”
Calling for a peaceful yuletide, Adikibe appealed for “a hitch-free celebration,” urging that the festivities be marked by “peace, safety, and genuine merriment, free from the disruptions that sometimes mar such occasions.”
The ALGON Deputy National President also urged continued spiritual support for leadership at both state and national levels. He called on the faithful “to keep the flame of prayer burning,” expressing belief that “God’s grace will sustain the efforts of the Tinubu administration and the Uzodimma leadership, leading to tangible improvements in health, education, and agriculture across Imo.”
In a hopeful and prayerful conclusion, Adikibe declared: “As we exchange gifts and share meals, let us also exchange hope and determination. May the newborn King bless our homes, our state, and our nation, and may 2026 be the year we witness the fullness of God’s promises—prosperity, security, and a super-Nigeria. Merry Christmas and a blessed New Year to you all!”
