Ohakim Denies Defecting To APC, Urges Imo People To Vote PDP
The former governor of Imo State, Dr. Ikedi Ohakim, debunks rumour making the rounds that he has dumped the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the All Progressives Congress (APC), appealing to the people of the state to vote massively for the PDP at this Saturday during the April 11, gubernatorial election in the state.
He made this known while speaking on his official position on the forthcoming governorship election.
He emphatically said that “change” will also find its way to Imo State, “Imo will not be left out”, stating that the present political situations in Imo needs change and change will come.
He urged his supporters and Imo People to vote out governor Rochas Okorocha if they want a glorious future, saying “That re-election of Chief Okorocha will be a bad omen to the good people of Imo State.”
On the rumours that he has defected to APC, he debunked the rumours and hate campaigns that he has joined the APC or had any dealings with Gov Okorocha, saying that such falsehood was a cheap blackmail and gossips and handiwork of idle minds and mischief makers.
He said that he remains in PDP and promised that the party will win the Saturday’s gubernatorial election in the state.
“I remain with PDP and we will win the Saturday’s election” he said, dvocating for a nonviolence and peaceful conduct of Saturday’s election, urging Imo people to be calm that “God is on the throne.”
