Kogi Gov Approves Reimbursement of N276m WAEC Fees To Students

Ahead of the state governorship election, Governor Idris Wada of Kogi State has approved
the reimbursement of N276 million to candidates
who sat 2014/2015 West African Examinations
Council, WAEC, in the state.

A statement by the Secretary of WAEC Fees Refund Committee, Ibrahim Odoma, said a total of 24,172 candidates were certified eligible to benefit from the fund.

According to him, a seven-man committee headed by Maryam Ladi Ibhim, had earlier screened the list of WAEC candidates from public schools in the state with the view to ascertaining eligible beneficiaries.

Odoma said each beneficiary is to be refunded the sum of N11,450 which was the amount their parents/wards spent on the registration.
