Egbabor Emerges 2015 Delta LGA Chairman of the Year

The Executive Chairman of Isoko North Local Government, Hon. Emmanuel Egbabor has won the 2015 Local Government Chairman of the year award.
The esteemed award was bestowed on him by the African Child Foundation in partnership with the Delta Role Model Awards (DREAMS).
According to the country representative of the African Child Foundation, Prince Donald Onosakponome, the Delta Role Model Awards is a biennial event organized to recognize and encourage Deltans that have excelled in various endeavors in commemoration of the creation of Delta State.
According to Prince Donald, this year’s event tagged “Vessels of Honor” is in recognition of 24 outstanding Deltans who made the state proud over the years. He disclosed that the nomination of Hon. Emmanuel Egbabor and subsequent winning of the award as LGA Chairman of the year was in recognition of his sterling and outstanding performances since he assumed office as Chairman of Isoko North Local Government.
“Despite the paucity of funds rocking the local governments across the country, he has remained undaunted in his quest to provide the people of Isoko North Local government with dividends of democracy.
“From road rehabilitation to evacuation of refuse reconstruction of
Legislative Chambers and recently the free eye screening, treatment and surgery were over 1,000 people benefited and of course the miraculous restoration of sight for a 17 years old blindness were enough reasons for Deltans to have selected him as the best LGA Chairman of the year.” He said.
In a brief acceptance speech, Executive Chairman of Isoko North Local Government Hon. Emmanuel Egbabor thanked God and the organizers for the initiative while dedicating the award to the good people of Isoko North Local Government who voted for him.
“I give glory to God for this opportunity and I thank the organizers for this award as I dedicate it to the good people of Isoko North Local Government for giving me the opportunity to serve them.
“I want to assure them that the best is yet to come as we pray wisdom, knowledge and for an improvement in the finances of the local government.
We will do our best to be prudent in managing what is available to ensure that we provide them with dividends of democracy encapsulated in the prosperity agenda of His Excellency Sen. Dr Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa.”
The impressive award ceremony which took place at the Nnebisi Hall, Grand Hotels Asaba was well attended by dignitaries including member representing Isoko South Constituency 2 at the Delta State House of Assembly, Hon Prince Johnson Erijo, Chairman Delta State Independent Electoral Commission, DSIEC, Mr Moses Ogbe, Executive Chairman of Isoko South Local Government and Chairman of Association of Local Governments of Nigeria, Delta State Chapter, Hon. Itiako Constantine Malik Ikpokpo, Executive Vice Chairmen of Isoko North and South Local governments Hon. Anthony Odhe and Hon. Chief Ralph Okaruefe, Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Orientation and Social Development Barr. Eugene Uzum, Secretary Isoko North Local Government, Barr. Vote Umukoro, Special Adviser to the Isoko Northn Chairman, Mr John Ubueme, among others.
