Another Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Governor has been sacked. This followed the decision of the Taraba State Governorship Election Petition Tribunal sitting in Abuja to nullify the election of Governor Darius Ishaku of the PDP.

The tribunal headed by Justice Musa Danladi Abubakar declared the gubernatorial candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in the state, Senator Aisha Jumai Alhassan‎, a minister-designate, as the bona-fide winner of the April 11 governorship poll in the state.

Mrs. Alhassan, a former senator, will be Nigeria’s first female governor if Mr. Ishaku fails to challenge the ruling, or loses the appeal.
