The Senator representing Anambra Central Senatorial District, Senator Uche Ekwunife (Iyom) on Thursday attended the burial of Late Chief Sylvester Okeke, Oba Nkpor at Nkpor in Idemili North Local Government Area of Anambra State.
Senator Ekwunife who joined other dignitaries, family, friends and well-wishers to mourn the Late Oba who died at the age of 90, described the Late Oba Nkpor as a community leader of high repute who impacted meaningfully on the lives of many within and outside his community during his time on earth.
At the event which was equally attended by the Former Minister of Aviation, Chief Osita Chidoka and the Member representing Idemili North and South Federal Constituency, Hon Obinna Chidoka and other dignitaries, Ekwunife who was well recieved by the people of the community and others who came to celebrate the life of the late Nonagenarian prayed God to grant the deceased eternal rest and give the family and everyone whose life has been touched by him the courage to mourn him.
In a special way, Hon Obinna Chidoka appreciated Senator Ekwunife for identifying with Ndi Idemili who has lost a rare gem in the deceased.
He noted that the Late Oba Sylvester Okeke who is like a father to him has given him tremendous support throughout his political journey.
The Federal Lawmaker further noted that Senator Ekwunife as a leading PDP guber Aspirant has what it takes to occupy Agu-Awka – the seat of Awka government house. He thanked her for making it to ceremony on a short notice and prayed God to bless her in all her endeavours.
