Muoghalu Receives Nelson Mandela Leadership Award For Youth Employment
The Managing Director, National Inland Waterway Authority (NIWA), Chief Dr George Muoghalu has again been recognised with Nelson Mandela Leadership Award by Trans-African Youth Initiative for his exemplary commitment to eradicating youth unemployment since he assumed office as NIWA boss.
Receiving the award from the Group’s President, during the presentation ceremony held at the NIWA Headquarters in Abuja, Dr George Muoghalu expressed his appreciation to the organisation for finding him worthy of the prestigious award and commended them for their selfless service to the society at large.
According to the former National Auditor of the day ruling party APC who flagged up operations at Onitsha river port few months ago , it takes commitment and result orientation to take so much interest in creating jobs for unemployed youths in Nigeria.
Dr Muoghalu dedicated the award to the entire youths of Anambra State , whose hardship and unemployment drives his desire to creating jobs and it has resulted in the recognition and award.
While presenting the ward, the Group’s President, explained that the organisation has been following, with keen interest, the innovative trend of events and sharp improvements in the operations of the NIWA since the mantle of leadership fell on Dr George Muoghalu.
While maintaining that the award was informed by the Managing Director’s impactful leadership style and work ethics, he urged other government agencies of Nigeria to take a cue from Dr Muoghalu, in order to effectively consider proficiency in services and creating jobs for the youths.
It should be recalled that Dr George Muoghalu has received commendations from various quarters following his refined operations in NIWA and creation of jobs through the agency remains one his hallmarks.
