On Tuesday, December 8, 2020 was a day of joy and immeasurable happiness for Mrs Victoria Obiekeze, an indigent widow from Umudim village, Isuaniocha in Awka North Local Government Area of Anambra State who emerged as a beneficiary of Senator Uche Ekwunife 3 bedroom bungalow project.
The housing project which is designed to provide a decent shelter for some families that cannot afford one has been received with gratitude by beneficiaries and constituents of the Senatorial District.
Having flagged-off similar projects for some less privileged families in the Senatorial District, Senator Uche Ekwunife (Iyom) ably represented by a team led by a former commissioner for women affairs Anambra State, Lady Henrietta Agbata, arrived Isuaniocha to flag off another building project, this time for a widow who had no helper or decent roof over her head.
Arriving at the project site, the team were received by the Chairman of Umudim Village Isuaniocha, Mr Basel Okoye, his Vice, Mr Francis Nwankwo and other members of the community.
Speaking on behalf of the President General of the community, Mr Ofobike Mkpume, the Chairman of Umudim village, Mr Basel Okoye expressed gratitude to the Senator for attending to the needs of humanity. He rained prayers and blessing upon her, and assured her of the continued support of the people of the community.
Overwhelmed with Joy, the beneficiary, Mrs Victoria Obiekezie appreciated Senator Ekwunife for coming to her aid and giving her what she never believed was possible in her lifetime.
She asked for God’s grace and favour upon the Senator and prayed for His continuous guidance and protection upon her and her family.
Speaking at the gathering, the leader of the project team, Lady Henrietta Agbata stated that the building project for the less privileged was initiated by Senator Ekwunife out of empathy and love for her constituents, particularly the indigent ones among them.
She called for more prayers and support for the Senator and assured the people of Senator Ekwunife’s resolve to offer a representation that puts the interest of constituents first.
Speaking further, Lady Agbata stated that Senator Ekwunife’s massive developmental efforts has brought about flag-off and commisioning of numerous projects in the Senatorial District, with an unprecedented ratio of one day, many projects.
Also in the delegation were the former Accountant General of Anambra State, Mrs Helen Nwaeri, Former General Manager Anambra State Physical Planning Board, Chief Victor Okpoko, the Former Chairman of ASUBEB, Dr Rose Nwankwo, the Project Manager Anambra Central Liaison Office, Mrs Ifeyinwa Chinwuko, Awka South Coordinator SUECO, Onyi Nwokeke and Others.
