Insecurity: On Those Reports About President Buhari Requesting And Getting Assistance From China

Those news reports are truly embarrassing. What is the worth of the political Independence that Nigeria got from Britain in 1960 – 61 years ago?
If all the security and intelligence agencies and personnel we have amassed and spent trillions of naira to recruit, train and maintain over the decades cannot deal with quite local and elementary security issues we have in Nigeria, wind them up at once and restart the process of establishing a security and intelligence architecture that will work for Nigeria.
But we don’t think that the existing security and intelligence agencies and personnel are inadequate in successfully tackling terrorism, kidnapping, assassination, murder, ritual killing, cannibalism, armed robbery, drug dealing, corruption, arson and other crimes.
We think the problem is wayward, incompetent, unpatriotic, visionless and corrupt leadership – from the Presidency down. They are the ones who need replacement at the earliest possible time. With them out of the way, what seem like intractable security problems today will virtually disappear.
The Federal Government under President Muhammadu Buhari must stop inviting foreign countries to recolonise Nigeria, they must stop selling Nigeria to foreigners, they must stop shaming Nigerians and Africans by giving the erroneous impression that Nigerians are incapable of running Nigeria successfully.
The Government cannot appoint known incompetent criminally minded people from one part of country into security and intelligence positions, and when they fail to deliver as we all knew they would, instead of going to other parts of the country to recruit competent and morally qualified persons to replace the rotten eggs, the government instead junkets to China and other countries for expertise that abounds in Nigeria.
That is wicked, treacherous and vindictive. And it manifests disunity, lack of belief in Nigeria, sabotage, corruption and treason.
