Hoodlums Burn Ex-Councillor’s 3 Vehicles, Other Properties

It’s a sad day on Sunday as hoodlums invaded the Amogwu Village residence of a former Councillor, Rt. Hon. Cyril Chika Ugwuja, who is fondly called Ozor Okamanyi, and burnt his three vehicles beyond repairs.

The invaders were said to have struck at about 2am today, Sunday, January 9, 2022 at the village in Edem-Ani, Nsukka local Government Area of Enugu State.

Also burnt by the arsonists were over 500 hundred chairs worth millions of Naira.

The properties destroyed by the hoodlums while the residents of the Amogwu Village were asleep.

In his swift reaction on Sunday, the Executive Chairman of Nsukka Local Government, Hon. Barr. Cosmas Ibeziako Ugwueze raced to the scene of the incident to ascertain the level of the damage.

Barr Ugwueze who was subjected to a sober mood by the extent of the damage condemned the dastardly act.

The shocked council boss, who empathised with the former local government legislator over his loss, said, “This is not the Nsukka we used to know.

“This is not the Home-in-Nsukka we are building”, Barr. Ugwueze bemoaned.

Enugu State is in the process of selecting candidates for Chairmanship and Councillorship elections expected to hold in February, 2022.
