ALGON National President Hon Kolade David Alabi Extols THE Virtues Of Women In Nation-Building

…Wishes Women Well as They Mark International Women’s Day
The National President of the Association of Local Governments of Nigeria (ALGON), Hon Kolade David Alabi has congratulated Women all over the country for their hard work, resilience towards nation-building.
He said that the preponderance and phenomenal contributions they are making on a daily basis especially at the grassroots presupposes fair commendation.
In his words” Women are the pioneers of inclaculable progress and agents of nation-building process despite the fact that our culture may make some pronouncements on their responsibilities but as the world evolves it has been established that adjustments across diversities which are suitable with those values in a symbiotic manner without injuring or harming any side can be applied like assuming a leadership position beyond gender sentiments”.
The National President said that ALGON attach great importance to the place of women in rural development and thanked President Muhammadu Buhari for his gender considerations through political appointments as well as some State Governors that have visibly encouraged the women by providing unfettered access and an equal platform to aspire to the offices of Chairman or Councillors.
Said he “In National Assembly, we have them, including Ministries Department and Agencies and all of them come from one Local Government or the other and their performance are reassuring.
“We are happy for this opportunity that has fully cascaded down to ALGON and I can tell you that their performance in the Councils is fantastic. Our Director-General is a woman too.
The greatest human resource with great potential is Woman after Man and we are proud of them, therefore gender mainstreaming is a key component of our development.
It is obvious that Women are the key to sustainable development and are instrumental to the provision of quality of life in the family and beyond.
Outside the family responsibility as wives, the variety of roles the women are associated with are those of leader, administrator, manager of income managers human capital and last but not the least illustrious politicians.
This is why ALGON is wishing them well in all that concerns them including their Bills in the National Assembly as well as the Gender rights, he ended.
