Kogi Youths Adopt Chief (Mrs) Doyin Ibikunle As Sole Candidate For Kogi West Senatorial District

Following a resolution reached at a meeting of the state Executive council and Local Government Chairman from Western Senatorial District, Kogi State held on the 20th April, 2022, a pro-youth group, the Advocacy for Youth Leadership In Governance, Kogi State of Nigeria, has unanimously adopted High Chief (Mrs) Doyin Ibikunle as its preffered candidate to run for Senatorial position of Kogi West Senatorial District.

By the adoption, the youth group has vowed to work and ensure the success of the aspirant at the party primaries and in 2023 general election.

The decision of the group was disclosed by the group’s President, Mr. Abiodun Emmanuel, in a chat with our correspondent.

Consequent upon the development, he explained that the resolution was necessitated by the aspirant’s response to persistence clarion calls of the people, her laudable and people-oriented youth and women empowerment projects that impacted in an unprecedented manner on “the peace loving people of Western senatorial district.”

He added that her “pattern of leadership and mode of empowerment is unmatched and unprecedented”.

In adopting Chief Mrs Doyin Ibikunle, the group’s President added that “we equally want to set the pace by adopting and massively supporting the first female senatorial aspirant to her emergence from Western Senatorial District.”

According to him, the Advocacy for Youth Leadership In Governance, Kogi State, also considered the need for gender equality in the politics of the Kogi West Senatorial District.

Mr. Abiodun Emmanuel disclosed that the group has set in motion their working machineries and have genuinely resolved to work tirelessly towards ensuring her “victory at the primaries and 2023 general election.”
