Abia Governorship: Why Gregory Ibe Ruined APGA’s 2023 Chances – Sheriff Ehibe
The governorship candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) in 2023 gubernatorial election in Abia State and founder of Gregory University, Uturu, Dr Gregory Ikechukwu Ibe, has been described by a chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) as the least qualified individual to Governor Abia State.
While speaking with journalists at the International Airport on his way to Osisioma Ngwa for the Commissioning of the Interchange Flyover built by Governor Okezie Ikpeazu, the strong Abia politician, Chief Okey Sheriff Ehibe, popularly known as Nwa Onye Army, noted that APGA in the State “simply threw away its chances at the polls by fielding Gregory Ibe as its governorship candidate in Abia State.
“His dossiers are in my palms and when the campaign begins the general public would be told who the APGA governorship candidate truly is”, Sheriff Ehibe said.
He maintained that the recent reported pact by Ibe to remit Abia money to the tune of N2.2 billion monthly to the leadership of APGA which was made public by Chief Chikwe Udensi, a Board of Trustees member of APGA is a tip of the iceberg compared to what is coming.
“I know him too well as he moved rapidly from rags to riches under the guise of a business mogul.
“Good enough, the PDP has a strong candidate in the person of the former Vice-Chancellor of the Abia State University, Uturu, Prof. Uche Ikonne, who has gotten wide acceptance in all parts of Abia State.
“The choice of Greg Ibe simply ruined the chances of APGA in Abia State. We’re here and we are sure to do the needful when the campaign starts”, Nwa Onye Army vowed.
He however showered priases on Governor Ikpeazu over his infarstructure programme and Empowerment.
He added that “Okezie has been paying salaries with billions of naira monthly and we hope that Prof lkonne will not only fellow his foot steps but excel in good governance”
