Nnamdi Kanuʼs Case Can’t Be Resolved Judicially – SDP Presidential Candidate, Adebayo Says
Prince Adewole Adebayo, the presidential candidate of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), has in his reaction to the controversy surrounding the trial of the leader of Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu, noting that given his knowledge of the basis of rendition and all that were associated with the agitation by IPOB, the matter cannot be judicially resolved.
He therefore said that it is a matter that has to be resolved politically under a strong leadership.
The SDP presidential flagbearer noted that “given what I know as the basis of the rendition and all that associated with the agitation by IPOB, this is not a matter that can be judicially resolved.
“It has to be a matter that has to be resolved politically under a strong leadership”.
According to Prince Adebayo, “the best thing to do is to make sure we find solutions that can last. I do not see any reason what a seating government would not be able to resolve it”.
”In every decision you take in government, there are winners and there are losers.
“So, what you need to do as a leader is to ensure that you chastise the child with the right hand and pamper the child with the left hand”, he said.
Adebayo maintained that government is already powerful, they don’t need additional power. What government needs is advice, What the government needs is moderation.
“Any person who does not respect the indivisibility of Nigeria, does not have my respect”.
“Anybody who does not respect the diversity of Nigeria, which this government is guilty of, does not have my respect”.
“Anybody who does not respect the sanctity of lives of other Nigerians, however the cause you are following, you cannot use tyranny or any form of force to persuade people to join you. I cannot be with that person”, said.
