The Lord Is On Our Side, Especially Those Nigerians Who Are Working In Favour Of Peace, Equity, Fair Play, And Justice
“Presidential Candidate Of Labour Party, MR. Peter Obi, Has Proven To Be The Lord Ordained By His Initiatives, Including Going To Court In PLACE OF Open Agitation.”
(Part One)
“FORTUNATELY, for us today in Nigeria, we have a candidate on the platform of a political party as popular as Peter Obi is, or has become, who does not show desperation nor is he inordinate in his quest to attain power. Otherwise, the country today would’ve been in flames by that multitude of youths and professionals who thronged out to vote for him, across the country, in respective of party affiliation, and are said to be in limbo for all their efforts.”
“IN it, I intend to situate that to reflect the particular situation as it would occur in the case of my candidate for the Governorship election slated for next week in the state of Cross River, Prince (Senator) Bassey Otu, against a total stranger to that level of responsibility whose only credential for success at the polls is his ability to fraternize and have the blessings of Jackanapes, as it has turned out to be, including recidivists and a few disgruntled elements still holding sway in belief, in a highly fragmented and rudderless platform.”
“ANYBODY who feels that the outgoing president Mohammadu Buhari would’ve in the prevailing circumstance had, in his true conscience, asked Police or Soldiers to shoot those Protesters on the streets against a result they felt was not the direct reflection of what they thought they voted for, just for the sake of an announcement in favor of one man as the winner, even if he is a member of his party, must be fooling his or herself, the way things are now, before man, the gods and the Lord.”
“FANATICISM is the worse form of life to live by anyone where it professes barefaced falsehood. Besides, especially where it is meant to foster avoidable controversies that may lead to unpleasant consequences or even death, particularly those shrouded around sentiments propelled by the illusion of grandeur in an attempt to sustain affinity be they popular or unpopular. In all, the act depicts a lack of self-worth, confidence, hypocrisy, a display of ineptitude, a misplaced show of patriotism, and indolence, and that also destroys one’s reputation both as an individual or government and rendering such a person susceptible to various cases of abuse.”
— Obi Ojage
The Nigerian court is not prone to favor whims nor caprices of the strong and connected in society, against the weak or the have-nots. That’s a fallacy. It can’t be in every case even if there should be. Anybody who feels the judges do not have a conscience is a liar.
When the Lord is on your side, even your enemies would work in your favor. If only you truly trust the Lord in true conscience in you’re perpendicular state of sincerity. And it would be proven in all matters arising from the echoes of the horizon.
Therefore, be still, as it is the advice common in all religious books and other books with similar good intentions, that the Almighty God who operates in the void as a Ghost unseen, and within its fingers, recites authority in control of the universe including the seas and everything therein, would respond as it does in defense of it’s anointed and the innocent.
The voice of the people is said to be the voice of the Lord, God Almighty. This is why, in every endeavor, we should put the Lord first. Whether as individuals, groups, or nations. By that I mean, you must be conscious of the righteous aspects of your activities to make sure you’re at best, doing all in your powers to adjust to fairness and probity in the face of temptation to do otherwise, the Holy Spirit shall in such cases intervene to help you do the rest where the shroud attitude of the strong are in contention over the meek or the weak or in situations where demonic powers, fiendish methodologies seem to prevail.
The Presidential election has been conducted with many crying Fawlty of the processes that led to the conclusion by the Independent National Electoral Commission, (INEC) where a winner was announced by the instrumentality of the law governing that body, as such, it is believed that it has substantially complied with the provisions of the law by its performance so far.
But the said elections involved contestants. Therefore, wherein some of the contestants are complaining about the flawed process leading to the conclusion, it means there is a problem.
And that needs to be sorted out accordingly in line with our laws, that’s why the parties were being encouraged to go or vent whatever anger there is in court to obtain the interpretation of these acclaimed flaws to unveil aspects of fairness to all parties in the election especially those who are said to have lost.
These, therefore, behoove all of us to wait for the outcome of that process than jubilation and making jest at those who are said to have lost especially when their complaints the magnitude of those we have heard and seen so far, whether they’re true or false are to be made clearer by our court system. Many of these unfortunate behaviors as alluded are products of fanaticism and heralded by party fanatics.
Fanaticism is the worse form of life to live by anyone where it professes barefaced falsehood. Besides, especially where it is meant to foster avoidable controversies that may lead to unpleasant consequences or even death, particularly those shrouded around sentiments propelled by the illusion of grandeur in an attempt to sustain affinity be they popular or unpopular.
In all, the act depicts a lack of self-worth, confidence, hypocrisy, a display of ineptitude, a misplaced show of patriotism, and indolence, and that also destroys one’s reputation both as an individual or government and rendering such a person susceptible to various cases of abuse.
Fortunately, for us today in Nigeria, we have a candidate on the platform of a political party as popular as Peter Obi is, or has become, who does not show desperation nor is he inordinate in his quest to attain power. Otherwise, the country today would’ve been in flames by that multitude of youths and professionals who thronged out to vote for him, across the country, in respective of party affiliation, and are said to be in limbo for all their efforts.
And that’s the simple reason why many fanatics of partisan politics, as I call them, have the temerity to make jest of this humble man called Peter Obi, who is the reason why there is calm in and around the country today.
If, and assuming the aggrieved especially the presidential candidates of the Labour Party, His Excellency, former governor of Anambra State, Mr. Peter Obi, had encouraged any form of riots as was envisaged it would have been total, particularly so, going by the looks on the faces of the aggrieved voters all across the country who felt their efforts have all been in vain, so far.
Anybody in his or her right senses who feels that the outgoing president Mohammadu Buhari would’ve in the prevailing circumstance had, in his true conscience, asked Police or Soldiers to shoot those Protesters on the streets against a result they felt was not the direct reflection of what they thought they voted for, just for the sake of an announcement in favor of one man as the winner, even if he is a member of his party, must be fooling his or herself, the way things are now, before man, the gods and the Lord Almighty who controls the Universe.
I do not think President Buhari would wish to do that in the face of the disposition and preponderance of those on the other side of the divide who are bittered and ready to vent their anger anyhow they know best to see the change they so badly needed, it’s commonsensical.
The worse, in my opinion, would have been in tandem with what the Governor of Kaduna State, Malam Nasir El-Rufai in his own words, earlier accused the powers he claimed were against the victory of his candidate, upon which he said, was surreptitiously planning for an interim government which would be headed by a retired military officer.
And for such, it would have been in that light, for all parties to go home to their tent. To allow those who may now be considered sane enough to take charge of the affairs of the country, until the demon that holds our politicians, hostage, returns to its cage.
That’s exactly what I could’ve presumed would have happened in such a case scenario if not for the love for country displayed by Mr. Peter Gregory Obi, who now leads thousands of aggrieved persons who would have been prepared and well-equipped to go the way of the one whom they went together to vote for as the person they acknowledged would best champion their interest if he becomes the President of their country through the power of their votes.
What would be playing out here, I suppose, is nothing but self-interest. Even if it is to destroy the entire country, I bet you, these men in search of power, whether rightly or wrongly, do not care!
But the question to ask is whether self-interest should characterize the conduct of affairs of a country as great and blessed with human and natural resources and seen to have a lot of its citizens highly endowed scattered all across the world waiting for when these changes would occur, in a country where laws are never observed. And whenever it occurs is either to serve self-interest or is in the bridge where others who are less powerful are concerned.
Where the government officials together with independent institutions allegedly seen collaborating to undermine their constitution and laws in favor of self-interest without any form of guilt in their faces? Should its activities (government) be seen to be tilted mostly in favor of the interest of those who are said to be wealthy to buy themselves through without being subjected or made to suffer the consequences of their actions which is usually in the bridge of the laws? I hope not.
It is quite regrettable that this is the situation of how the country is tilting, I guess. As someone said, we may one day wake up and see that there is anarchy, a situation where everyone would choose to take the laws into their hands without minding any consequences.
I hope we are, in cases such as this, approaching or had approached the junction where those who are saddled with the responsibility of implementing the laws of the land in-toto and guaranteeing compliance, would be sensitive to what is on the horizon, and are ready to do the needful, no matter who’s interested is involved as long it is against the laws of the land, appropriately, punishment must apply to maintain the sanity over which the laws are characterized and the peace and orderliness they were meant to achieve, retained.
However, those of us who still have our candidates in other elections especially the Governorship and State Assemblies should do everything in our powers to dunce restiveness in all forms by playing down the outcome of the yet-to-be-concluded presidential as well as some aspects of the Senatorial elections of last weeks to allow the parties involve sort themselves out accordingly in the courts of law as being pursuit and not create an unnecessary distraction by their unguarded utterances, individually and as a group or a party. It may happen to you one way or other especially if you are still in politics.
Nobody would be delighted in the case of delinquency, particularly when areas he or she felt strongly of success, suddenly throw in failure, and these are areas characterized by partiality, the magnitudes we hear, whether true or false, time, and the unfolding events in court will prove that. For our sanity, we should all avoid acts of incitement in any way possible.
PART TWO OF THIS SERIES OF MY NEXT ARTICLE IS TITLED: “THE Phenomenon Called Peter Obi In The Presidential Election Is A Different Entity In Respect Of The State Elections coming in succession.”
In it, I intend to situate that to reflect the particular situation as it would occur in the case of my candidate for the Governorship election slated for next week in the state of Cross River, Prince (Senator) Bassey Otu, against a total stranger to that level of responsibility whose only credential for success is his ability to fraternize and have the blessings of Jackanapes, as it has turned out to be, including recidivists and a few disgruntled elements still holding sway in belief, in a highly fragmented and rudderless platform.
We sincerely thank the Lord, God almighty for the peace we enjoy to this day, with all that the bloodsuckers and opportunists had predicted would occur. It shows that the Holy Spirit is in supervision and controls the affairs of our country still.
