The Kwara State Government has distributed relief materials to individuals and households affected by a recent heavy downpour in Ilorin, the state capital.

The downpour caused destruction to people’s property and homes.

Following the incident, Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq commiserated with the victims of the rainstorm. A delegation of the state government also paid visit to the victims and took account of the damages.

On Thursday however, Comrade Ladi Abaskarara who represented the Special Adviser on Special Duties to the Governor, Alhaji AbdulRazaq Jiddah, led a team to distribute relief materials to the victims of the heavy downpour.

The relief items included building materials such as roofing sheets among others.

Beneficiaries commended the state government for the swift intervention, recalling that its delegation had only paid visit to them about a week ago.

They expressed joy and satisfaction at the urgent attention their situation received, saying it’s contrary to their experience with previous governments where interventions like this are unnecessarily delayed.
