BREAKING: Court Affirms Lamidi Apapa Faction As Authentic Labour Party

The Lamidi Apapa faction of the Labour Party (LP) has been recognised by the court as the authentic structure of the party.

In a ruling delivered on Friday, the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), High Court declared Lamidi Apapa as the Acting Labour Party National chairman.

Meanwhile, the Acting National Chairman has stated that he is now fully in charge of Labour Party.

In his reaction to the ruling, Apapa gave Lawyers representing Labour Party at the Presidential Election Petitions Tribunal (PEPT), 48 hours to come and brief him about what is happening at the Tribunal.

He said, “I am so pleased that justice has taken place today, because under normal circumstances we begin to doubt.

“There is no doubt that I am now in charge of Labour Party, it is now being confirmed by court that I am in charge, until another order is issued and anybody who parade himself as Chairman is acting illegally, and I want to tell the whole world that come next Friday, the real suit we start which has to do with forgery, conspiracy and so forth will commence and from there we know whether the offence has been committed or not.

“I want to use the this opportunity to invite all lawyers representing us at Tribunal that they should come for briefing and come and give me update on what is happening at the tribunal because right now, I am the person on the driver sit, within 48 hours.”
