Do you know that WhatsApp now allows you to edit your sent WhatsApp messages or change emoji.
Yes, you can edit any message up to 15 minutes after sending, and it’ll update for everyone in the chat. Edited messages will have the word “edited” next to the timestamp.
If you aren’t on the latest version of WhatsApp you’ll see, “This message was edited for everyone in this chat on the latest version of WhatsApp.” Update your app to the latest version to see edited messages.
How To Edit A Message on WhatsApp
Now, if you want to edit any recently sent WhatsApp message, hover over the message you want to edit, that is, select the message you want to edit, then click Menu > Edit message.
Edit your message.
Click the checkmark when you’re finished with your update.
Things To Note About Editing Sent WhatsApp Messages
There is a 15 minute time limit for editing messages. In other words, after 15 minutes a sent message cannot be edited any longer.
Another important note about editing a message is that editing messages won’t send a new chat notification to people in your chat. For instance, if a message was read before it was edited, the people who read it won’t get notification message.
Finally, note that you can’t edit photos, videos, or other types of media. Therefore, once a media is sent, it cannot be edited.
WhatsApp users are encouraged to always use the most up to date version of WhatsApp. Latest versions contain the newest features and bug fixes.
