Supreme Court Upholds Tinubu’s Victory In 2023 Presidential Election
The Supreme Court has delivered judgment on the appeals filed to challenge the ruling of the Presidential Election Tribunal Court (PEPC) that upheld Bola Tinubu’s victory in the February 25 2023 election.
Peter Obi of the Labour (LP) and Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) had filed their appeals after the PEPC judgment.
The apex court dismissed Atiku and Obi’s appeal for lacking in merit.
It therefore upheld Bola Tinubu’s victory in the 2023 presidential election.
On 25 percent in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), the apex court also upheld the ruling of the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal that a candidate does not need 25% votes on the Federal Capital Territory to be declared winmer of the Presidential Election.
All the presidential candidates, Tinubu, Obi and Atiku, were absent from the Supreme Court in Abuja on Thursday during the ruling.
