Akinyelure’s As NNPCL Chairman Excites June 12 Activits As They Renew Call For Tinubu To Appoint Bamiji As Minister

June 12 activits under the auspices of the Coalition of Pro-Democracy Groups for A Better Nigeria, have hailed the appointment of Chief Pius Akinyelure from Ondo State as non-Executive Board Chairman of Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL), describing the appointment as a round peg in a round hole.
This is even as the June 12 activists and civil society organizations (CSOs) restated their call President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to appoint one of their own, Comrade AWA Bamiji as a Minister of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, rolling out plans for 2024 Chief MKO Abiola Epetedo self-declaration as President-elect, 30 years after.
The CSOs agreed on the replacement of the former Minister, Simon Lalong, who recently resigned from the President Tinubuās cabinet following his Senate victory at the election petition tribunal, by appointing Comrade Bamiji based on June 12 special consideration.
Praising President Tinubu for the appointment of Chief Akinyelure, the group said āWe congratulate Mr President, for making a right choice in the appointment of Chief Pius Akinyelure from Ondo State as non-Executive Board Chairman of Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL).
āThe latter’s appointment as non-Executive Board Chairman of NNPCL is a round peg in a round hole; well deserved, based on his wealth of experience and it is also most timely regarding the urgent need to revive our ailing economy with dwindling value of our currency, which needs magic wand to quickly revive it to a desirable condition from this comatose situation.ā
Saying that Chief Akinyelure has the requisite experience needed for the renewed hope Agenda of Mr President, the Coalition said āYour highly productive days from Mobil Producing Limited till being the NNPCL Board member representing Southwest and now, non-Executive Board Chairman of the NNPCL could be best described as complete metamorphosis of requisite experience needed for the renewed hope Agenda of Mr President.
āEvery aspect of our economy presently needs expertise knowledge of a Technocrat, capable of preventing it from a total collapse.
āYou, as a poster face in the system and other appointed professionals inside this present Government have adequately testified to the fact that annulled “MKO Abiola Hope 93” is Today being adequately renewed by “TINUBU Renewed Hope Agenda Team members”.
āWith Almighty God on your side, you have never been a failure. We therefore pray for your successful tenure and that of experienced othersā, the Pro-Democracy groups said.
On Epetedo Declaration at 30, the Coalition For A Better Nigeria has also rolled out plans for the 13th National Discourse on the Epetedo Declaration, 30 years after, on the theme āConverting The Pain Of June 12 Election Annulment To Gain Of Renewed Hope Agendaā, with the Guest Speaker as President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, the Executive President, Federal Republic Of Nigeria.
The Chairman Of the Occasion is General Alani Akinrinade (rtd), a June 12 Election Actualization Struggles’ Apostle.
The Special Guest Of Honour is Honourable Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, the Minister Of Interior.
Guests Of Honour at the 30th anniversary of the Epetedo Declaration are notable June 12 Victims, Rights’ Activists and Nigerian Leaders Of Thought.
The host Governor was identified as Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu, the Executive Governor Of Lagos State, while the hosts are Alhaji Lekan Abiola, Son of late āPresidentā MKO Abiola and late āFirst Lady,ā Alhaja Kudirat Abiola; and Prince Tajudeen Olusi, the Chairman, Governor’s Advisory Council (GAC), Lagos State.
The Host LG Chairmen are Prince Adetoyese Olusi and Hon. Muibi Alade Folawiyo (Pepper) and the Father Of the Day is Alhaji Tanko Yakassai, former Chairman of the Arewa Consultative Forum.
