Like he promised, Maazi Ogbonnaya Okoro II completed and published a PHYSICS Text book written in Igbo language.

Let it be on record that this is the very first ever effort to have started and reached conclusion.

One thing to note from what the author has said is that, the book is deliberately written such that anyone who can read Igbo language, whether formally educated or not, can understand Physics.

My real joy is not that people will now read his book and pass Physics examination. That’s actually pointless. My real joy is that, understanding Physics in Igbo language will enable people to begin to create things and solve so many problems that we rely on others for.

There are so many secrets and solutions embedded and hidden in the formulas that Physics teaches. The laws of Physics are controlling so much of our everyday life, yet students run away from it, not necessarily because it is difficult, but because it is taught in English, a language not many people understand clearly.

If “illiterates” could learn to use phones, learn to repair and even create theirs from Aba to Computer village to Nnewi, I am very confident that this will release a new wave of creativity amongst Igbo youths.

Interestingly, even the aged population will be able to understand Ohm’s and Boyle’s law. They can now do Physics homework with their grand kids and learn how to make a kite fly without entering a classroom.
