I’m excited to see one of the few surviving Heroes of Struggle for independent Africa – HE Dr. Samuel Shafiishuna Daniel Nujoma clock 95 today.
Founding President of the Republic of Namibia” and “Father of the Namibian Nation”, “Quintessential Leader of the Namibian Revolution”, Patriarch of the Land of the Land of the Brave; His Excellency Dr Sam Nujoma is the Founding President of the Republic of Namibia was born on 12 May 1929 at the Etunda village, Omusati Region in the North-Western part of Namibia to Mr Daniel Uutoni Nujoma and Mrs Helvi Mpingana Kondombolo.
He was involved in the anti-colobial politics until in the late 1950s he helped found the Ovamboland People’s Organization, the forerunner of the South West Africa People’s Organization (SWAPO); SWAPO has till date, remained in Power in the South Western Africa nation – Namibia.
I have had the privilege of quality engagement with him in his Windhoek home a few times and I’m indeed convinced why Namibia is called – Land of the Brave.
Baba, keep living strong as the continent prepares to celebrate your 100th, 150th and so on.
Yours always,
HE Osisiogu Osikenyi E.,
