Campbell’s passing was confirmed by his former Nottingham Forest teammate Mark Crossley, who expressed his devastation on social media platform X.

He also scored a hat-trick in the FA Youth Cup final in 1988, which showcased his early promise as a prolific striker.
His contributions were pivotal in Arsenal’s FA Cup and Coca-Cola Cup victories in 1993, as well as their European Cup Winners’ Cup win in 1994.
Starting his career as a trainee with Arsenal in 1985, Campbell quickly made a name for himself by scoring 59 goals in one season for Arsenal’s Academy.

Despite being admitted to hospital in May, details of Campbell’s illness were not widely shared.
