Sanitation Exercise to Take Place on Saturday in Kwara

In a bid to maintain a clean and healthy environment, the Kwara State Government, through the Ministry of Environment, has announced that the monthly sanitation exercise for June will be held on Saturday, June 29, 2024.

According to a statement signed by the Press Secretary, Ministry of Environment, Yakub Kamaldeen Aliagan, the exercise is scheduled to take place between 7:00 a.m. and 9:00 a.m.

Residents have been strongly encouraged to actively participate by cleaning both their residential and business premises. This collective effort contributes to a cleaner and more hygienic community.

“However, it’s important to note that there will be increased vehicular and human movement during this period due to the ongoing National Business and Technical Education Board (NABTEB) examination.

“Residents should plan accordingly and cooperate with traffic management measures.

“Waste Management trucks will be deployed to various locations within the metropolis for efficient waste collection. Residents are reminded that dumping refuse on pedestrian walkways, road medians, drainages, canals, or any other unapproved sites is strictly prohibited”, the state government warned.

The statement added, “Furthermore, any attempt to obstruct government officials from carrying out their duties during the exercise will be met with appropriate legal action.

“Let’s all play our part in keeping our environment clean and safe!”
