Nigeria Restores Electricity Hours After Nationwide Grid Collapse
Electricity supply has been partly restored in some parts of Nigeria hours after national grid collapse that threw cities into total darkness nationwide.
On Saturday, Nigeria faced a nationwide blackout due to a total system collapse of the national grid.
The recent collapse disrupted power supply across the country, affecting distribution companies and leaving many feeders out of service.
The Eko Electricity Distribution Company (EKEDC) reported the system collapse at 6:41 a.m., leading to a complete loss of supply.
This incident occurred just weeks after the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) celebrated over 400 consecutive days of uninterrupted stability in the power grid.
Despite privatization efforts, Nigeria continues to grapple with challenges in its electricity sector, including outdated infrastructure, inadequate maintenance, and limited investment.
