The Guild emphasized the need for prioritizing freedom of the press, citing harassment and intimidation of journalists that stifles their ability to report truthfully. “We demand an end to these unnecessary attacks and call for protection of press freedom in Nigeria,” Aliagan stated.

The NGIJ is committed to deepening democracy, transparency, and accountability and is ready to collaborate with the government to rid the nation of corruption.
