Fortification Ritual Turns Fatal: Enugu Man Chikwado Eze Dies in Bizarre Burial Ordeal
In a shocking turn of events, the Enugu State Police Command has apprehended a native doctor and the father of a 26-year-old man, Chikwado Eze, who tragically lost his life during a failed fortification ritual in Ugbaike, Enugu Ezike, Igbo-Eze North Local Government Area.
Chikwado, who had recently secured a visa to travel abroad, returned to his village to share the joyous news with his father, Mr. Uwakwe Eze.
However, the celebration took a dark turn when his father insisted on a fortification ritual to ensure his success overseas.
The ritual, conducted by native doctor Enuwa Odugu, involved burying Chikwado alive for one hour and thirty minutes.
Tragically, when Chikwado was exhumed after the stipulated time, he was found dead.
The Enugu State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Daniel Ndukwe, confirmed the arrests of both the native doctor and Mr. Uwakwe Eze on charges of conspiracy and murder.
This incident has sent shockwaves through the community, raising questions about the dangers of traditional practices and the lengths to which individuals will go in the pursuit of success.
The police continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding this tragic event.
