Power Restored: TCN Repairs Vandalized Transmission Line, Brings Relief to Northern States
The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) has achieved a major breakthrough in restoring bulk power supply to several Northern states, following the successful repair of the vandalized 330kV Ugwuaji-Apir transmission line.
As of 4:56 pm yesterday, the line was back online, revitalizing the Apir-Lafia 330kV transmission line 2 and re-establishing bulk power transmission to Lafia, Makurdi, Jos, Kaduna, Kano, Bauchi, and Gombe States.
“TCN recognizes the importance of electricity in our daily lives and is committed to ensuring swift repairs,” said Ndidi Mbah, General Manager, Public Affairs.
The TCN engineering team is now gearing up to tackle the second 330kV transmission line, with all necessary materials on hand. Line patrols will ensure no additional sections are compromised as repair work progresses.
This restoration effort demonstrates TCN’s dedication to maintaining reliable electricity supply, mitigating the impact of vandalism on the power grid.
Affected states can now breathe a sigh of relief as power is restored, thanks to TCN’s tireless efforts.
