Ministry of Defence Boosts Procurement Efficiency with Comprehensive Training

The training, which commenced on November 8, 2024, focuses on procurement audit, e-Procurement, Performance Management System (PMS), and Enterprise Content Management (ECM).
According to Dr. Ibrahim Abubakar Kana, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, the seminar aims to improve the overall morale and performance of the staff.
The carefully chosen titles of the seminar reflect the organizational components that outline the entire process of public procurement, including people, paperwork, and process.
Key Objectives
- Improving Procurement Audits: The seminar will expose participants to best practices in procurement audits and investigations.
- Streamlining Processes: The training will enable participants to understand essential tools needed to perform internal control-related services and speed up the purchase process.
- Evaluating Employee Efficiency: The Performance Management System in Procurement will help the Ministry assess the skills, strength, and overall efficiency of employees.
The Ministry of Defence has allocated significant resources to procurement, with £288.6 billion allocated for equipment procurement and support over the next ten years.
The seminar demonstrates the Ministry’s commitment to transparency and accountability in its procurement processes. By investing in staff training and development, the Ministry aims to ensure its procurement practices align with international best practices.
The seminar’s impact will be felt across the Ministry, as participants gain valuable insights and skills to enhance procurement efficiency. With this training, the Ministry of Defence is poised to achieve its procurement goals and support the armed forces effectively.
