As the All Progressive Congress(APC) prepares to screen Abuja Municipal Area Council ( AMAC) Chairmanship aspirant, tension is rising over the eligibility of the incumbent Chairman Chief Christopher Zaka Maikalangu following fresh allegations of incompetence, certificate forgery and anti-party activities, a pressure group in the APC, Concerned FCT APC Stalwarts addressed a World Press Conference at the NUJ Press Centre Utako urging the APC leaders to disqualify the AMAC Chairman Mr Christopher Zaka Maikalangu warning that his continued ambition threatens the integrity and fortunes of the party in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

Addressing the press conference at NUJ Press Centre Utako Abuja, the coordinator of the group Mallam Haruna Musa alleged that Maikalangu lacks the capacity to lead pointing to what they described as a history of certificate forgery, poor leadership and anti- party activities.

In his words,” it would be a grave mistake for the APC to allow Mr Christopher Maikalangu to participate in tomorrow’s APC AMAC Chairmanship screening ,he is not qualified academically, morally and legally to represent the party in any capacity whatsoever.

He disclosed that the incumbent AMAC Chairman confessed his incapacity to lead during a recent meeting with hard-working Minister of the FCT Barr Nyesome Wike where he was reprimanded for his inability to combat criminality and banditry by not providing security vehicles for the police in recent times.

He noted that his incompetence in the leadership of AMAC is evident in the ongoing Nigeria Union of Teachers (NUT) and other AMAC Staff strike which has retarded the socio-economic development of AMAC staff and their children among others.

The group appealed to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the workaholic minister of the FCT Barr Nyesome Wike, the national chairman and other stakeholders to immediately intervene by stopping the incumbent AMAC Chairman’s ambition in the interest of the party’s future.
