In his keynote address, Dr. Nizar Chaari, Founder of Epik Leaders and an advocate for African youth empowerment, set the tone for the week-long engagement. He stressed the urgent need for Africa to cultivate a generation of leaders adept at navigating the continent’s unique challenges and opportunities in a rapidly evolving global landscape.

“Africa is rich—not only in its natural resources but more importantly in its human capital. Yet, these assets are often more utilized by global powers than by Africans themselves,” Dr. Chaari stated. “We must invest in young minds, co-create with universities, the private sector, and civil society, and build sustainable mentorship and follow-up systems for Generation Alpha.”

He further emphasized the growing importance of soft skills, digital fluency, critical thinking, and geostrategic awareness in a world increasingly shaped by artificial intelligence and shifting global alliances.

The Epik Leaders Summer Academy will span the course of a week, with a packed schedule that includes high-impact training workshops, interactive cultural cafés, policy debates, and guided on-site visits. These experiences are designed to encourage not only personal growth and leadership capability, but also cross-border collaboration and mutual understanding among Africa’s future leaders.

The Academy’s methodology is rooted in the principles of learning by doing, with a strong focus on hands-on engagement and real-world problem-solving. Participants will also be given access to Epik Leaders’ growing pan-African network of mentors, thought leaders, and institutional partners, laying the groundwork for long-term impact beyond the academy itself.

The launch of the Summer Academy marks a major milestone for Epik Leaders in its mission to redefine leadership in Africa through capacity-building, innovation, and shared values of inclusion, integrity, and excellence.

As the Academy unfolds over the coming days, it is expected to serve not just as a training ground but as a catalyst for new ideas, projects, and partnerships that will echo across the continent in years to come.
